Man fatally shot in Englewood neighborhood
A 26-year-old man was pronounced dead Monday evening after being shot in the Englewood neighborhood, officials said.

Officers found the man with gunshot wounds to his left shoulder and hand on the 6900 block of South Aberdeen Street at about 5:30 p.m., police said. Authorities initially said he was shot in the head. He was identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office this morning as Odie Henry, of the 1800 block of West Garfield Boulevard.

Henry was standing on the street when an unknown gunman came up to him and shot him, police said.

He was pronounced dead at 8:35 p.m. at the county morgue.


Teen shot in head in West Pullman neighborhood
A male is his late teens was hospitalized after being shot in the head in the city's West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said today.

Authorities had few details on the shooting that occurred at about 9:22 p.m. Monday in the 11800 block of South Perry Avenue.

The victim, who was believed to be either 17 or 18, was wounded and rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.

Detectives remained at the scene gathering details this morning.


Cops: Man stabbed, critically hurt during quarrel with girlfriend
A man was stabbed and critically hurt during an argument with his girlfriend on the city's South Side, police said.

The 32-year-old victim suffered multiple stab wounds during the quarrel that occurred at about 11:45 p.m. Monday inside an apartment in the 6300 block of South King Drive, police said, citing preliminary information.

The man was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, according to a police spokeswoman.

Officers arrested the man's girlfriend at the scene, but charges hadn't been filed as of this morning, police said.
