Just for your information: Those using the L.I.N.K. Card are exempt from sales taxes so once again this would be a WORKING PERSON'S TAX..... Again....
The Evanston Environment Board is recommending a 5-cent fee on paper and plastic shopping bags in all retail stores.
The board made the recommendation after studying proposals for reducing the pervasiveness of disposable shopping bags.
The Evanston city council will take up the measure next week.
