8 Colored folks packed into a car injured when the car crashes into Chili's restaurant


Eight people were injured when a car plowed into a Chili's restaurant on the South Side Saturday night, officials said.

Two victims were transported to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook county in serious-to-critical condition and two others were transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious-to-critical condition, Fire Department Chief Joe Roccasalva said.

Three victims were transported MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island in fair-to-serious condition and one was transported to Little Company of Mary Hospital, Roccasalva said.

The building, at 1750 W. 119th Street in the Morgan Park neighborhood, caught fire after the crash, but the fire was extinguished, Roccasalva said.
