Woman bolts from pharmacy with $400 worth of Rogaine

An entire shelf at a Downers Grove pharmacy lay barren after a woman bolted out the front door with the store’s entire stock of Rogaine hair loss treatment, police said.

Ten boxes of the hair tonic were taken during the theft at a CVS pharmacy in the 400 block of Ogden Ave. – a loss of over $400, police said.

A store employee told police she was working with some customers when she heard boxes fall in an adjacent aisle, a report states. The employee then saw the woman run out the store’s front door, setting off theft detectors. Once outside, the woman climbed into a Chevy Tahoe SUV with three men. The employee was able to provide police with a partial license plate number, though no arrests have been made.

When the store employee went back inside she noticed boxes in the aisle strewn about and the store’s entire stock of Rogaine missing, police say.

Police believe the woman is in her 30s, of medium build and said she was wearing jeans and a green jacket at the time of the theft. Store surveillance footage shows the woman entering the store at 11:24 a.m. on Sept. 17 and exiting two minutes later. The employee told police she would sign a criminal complaint if an arrest was made.
