A man who allegedly shot his girlfriend while her children sat in the back seat of her car was recently nabbed in the south suburbs after the case was featured on “America’s Most Wanted,” police said.
Romaro Taylor, 24, was tracked down in Robbins on Thursday based on a tip from police in south suburban Phoenix. He was hiding out with a family in the beautiful suburb of Robbins and was arrested without a struggle, police said.
Taylor is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, said Paul Jimos, commander of the Phoenix Police Department.
In December, Taylor allegedly shot his girlfriend as she sat in her car in Phoenix. His girlfriend’s children were sitting in the back seat during the shooting, police said. The girlfriend was wounded in the shoulder and stomach.
Taylor was upset that she crashed her car into his former girlfriend’s car after an argument involving the three of them, police said.
In 2006, Taylor was sentenced to seven years in prison for a carjacking. He was released after serving three years behind bars. Taylor, a gang member, has been sent back to prison for violating his parole in that case, officials said.
