Why The Pro Life Groups Are Not Taken seriously

To start, I am pro life, though if a mother's physical life is in danger, I would understand the need for an abortion. Also, if a woman is raped- I would certainly wish she would bring the baby to life, if the woman chose to have an abortion, I wouldn't hold that against her.
But I also think some people are just to extreme. From the Las Vegas Sun: A court challenge is being mounted to block an anti-abortion Nevada ballot initiative that would change the state constitution to define life as beginning at conception, and demand civil rights for unborn children.

While technically, they maybe right that unborn child should be given civil rights, that goes to far. For instance, if you give an unborn baby civil rights, can they sue their mom if she drinks or smokes while pregnant? Can the unborn baby sue if the baby is taken out for stupid reasons, like being the first New Year's baby? Can a unborn baby sue because they don't like who their parents are, like if their mom is a member of the Dance Mom's cast?
Abortions are declining across the U.S. and that is very good but more can be done. But stupid legislative ballot initiatives make most legitimate pro life people looking stupid.
