White people having their windows explode on I-290.... Oh, no evidence at all that a gun is involved...maybe just meteorites!
A roadside vandal targeting random vehicles at random on I-290 is likely to blame for smashing the rear window of a passing SUV Wednesday evening, police said.
Holly Tlusty, mother of two, was heading to Chicago from Downers Grove around 6:40 p.m. when she “heard a loud crash and freaked out,” she said.
Tlusty, 46, was driving eastbound under a bridge near Kostner when the rear passenger side of her Toyota Sequoia window was shattered.
The Chicago police officer who she reported the incident to could not find what had broken the window, she said. He told her a BB gun had likely been used, and that “they’d received several similar reports . . .” she added.
The incident comes just a week after a motorist walked a boy into a West Side police station, telling officers the boy had thrown a rock at his car from an I-290 overpass. Police said the incidents were “isolated” and that there was no evidence of anyone using a gun.
