Terrorism Cause Of Massive Power Outage In Southwest?

Currently, there is a massive power outage in the San Diego area and other places in the Southwest and it is causing major problems in those areas. Hope for a quick fix is not forthcoming and most people may not get power until tomorrow.
From the San Diego Union: A major power outage has spread across San Diego County after a transmission line running from Arizona to California failed Thursday and power could remain out through most of Friday.
The outage began about 3:40 p.m., leaving 1.4 million customers without power throughout the county as well as eastern Arizona, northern Mexico and the southern part of Orange County. The power failure led to school closures, flight cancellations, blacked-out traffic lights, silent radio stations and trapped elevator passengers.

"We want all of our customers being focused on emergency supply plans," he said. "We will do anything we can do get the power supply back as soon as possible here in San Diego."
Niggli said the massive, unprecedented outage was due to cascading events that began first when a transmission line in Arizona went out that then knocked the San Onofre nuclear power plant offline.
“Essentially we have two connections to the rest of the world -- one to the north and one to the east -- and both of those connections were severed,” he said. “We actually don’t know what happened to the line. All we know is the line went out."

Well, the Feds and others were quick to point out that this was not terrorism. Really, why would they say this? This is the weekend of 9-11 and so there are terrorists who want to cause havoc.
Then you have this quote: “Essentially we have two connections to the rest of the world -- one to the north and one to the east -- and both of those connections were severed,” he said. “We actually don’t know what happened to the line. All we know is the line went out." Seems like this could be caused by a terrorist. It is very easy to take down a electrical grid, if you know what you are doing and what lines to cut.
Also, why did it fail now? There have been no wildfires in the areas, no excessive heat, no earthquakes- so it was not nature caused.
Of course, it may have been done by a Obama hater who wanted to save people from listening to President Obama's speech. Cripes, Obama just cannot get a break. First, opening day for football and now a massive power outage for his speech tonight.
So, in reality, the authorities in California and elsewhere, don't know what really happened, including if the power outage is terrorism or not. But don't be surprised if it was and don't be surprised if the Fed's try and keep it hush hush.
